Early
wine bottle stoppers were leather, metal, wood
or anything soft that could be pushed into the lip of a bottle to seal
it. Eventually, the cork became the preferred
bottle
closure. At times tar or pitch was applied to the cork to help seal
it. With modernity many styles and designs came into the world market.
Bottle stoppers can range from simple, to highly decorative and complex
designs. Many bars tend to use decorative bottle stoppers on their
spirits to add a festive mood to their lineup. These can also be used as
perfect gift or favor.
