The key to cooking is having a nice
kitchen with plenty of space and the right kinds of tools. Pots
and pans are made of several materials and have certain specific
uses. They are the most widely used cookwares in any kitchen.
Cooking Pots and Pans Materials
There are several materials that are used for making pots and pans but
the most common materials and finishes used for making cooking pots and
pans include :
- Stainless Steel Cooking Pots and Pans : It is
good for most uses and is inexpensive and lightweight. Food does not
stick to it strongly and this is most popular for saucepans and
stock pots.
- Anodized Aluminum Cooking Pots and Pans :
Anodization is an electrochemical process that molecularly alters he
surface of aluminum cookwares making it stick and scratch resistant
and easy to clean.
- Cast Iron Cooking Pots and Pans : Cast iron is
denser and distributes heat evenly. These pans are excellent for
applications such as searing.
- Enameled Cast Iron Cooking Pots and Pans : It
provides a non stick, non rusting, non reactive, light colored
surface.
- Carbon Steel Cooking Pots and Pans : It has to
be seasoned and is vulnerable to acid foods. It is lightweight and
inexpensive.
- Aluminum Cooking Pots and Pans : It conducts
heat well and allows even heating and fast response to desired
temperature changes. It usually has a non stick surface inside.
- Copper Cooking Pots and Pans : It conducts heat
very well allowing for even heating.
- Glass Cooking Pots and Pans : It is heavy and
is used for stovetop cookware or bakeware.
