Frying Pan/Skillet

Frying pan is a long handled, round pan with short sloping sides. Sloping sides makes it easier to toss and turn food with a spatula. It is also called Skillet. It is used specifically for frying foods but can also be used for sauteing. They are available in a range of sizes and depth. The majority of frying pans are made with non stick material to reduce the amount of oil needed for stir frying.

The most common materials used for making frying pans are:

  • Stainless steel with copper or aluminum core
  • Anodized aluminum
