Julep Strainer
Julep strainer is a
simple convex strainer designed to strain liquids. It is essentially a
single piece of metal with a bowled surface studded with holes. The
surface studded with holes resembles a colander. The strainer is large,
lightweight and perforated. It is generally made of stainless steel.
  
The strainer does not fit on the top of the container but fits nicely
inside the glass part. These are generally used for straining martinis
and manhattans. Also used for straining several other drinks.
Julep strainers require a bit more dexterity and
control but cleans up easily with drinks such as julep and mojitos.
