Muffins and cupcakes are made in
muffin pans, tins
made of steel, aluminum or cast iron. The pan has rounded corners and
seamless cups. Each pan can have 6, 12, or 24 cup shaped depressions and
range from mini to jumbo in size.
Size of Muffin Pans
- Mini muffin pans usually have 12 or 24 cup
shaped depressions. Each cup is about 2 inches in diameter and about
½ inches deep.
- Jumbo muffin pans have 6 cup-shaped depressions
with each cup being 4 inches in diameter and 2 inches deep.

global market today.
- Muffin pans non stick are also available that
enables easy removal of muffins.
- Dark colored muffin pans absorb more heat from
the oven walls and become hotter, hence the oven temperature should
be reduced while using these pans.
- Muffin tops can also be made using muffin top pan. A muffin
top pan has 6 muffin top cups, and each cup measures about
4-inches across and most muffin top pans are non-stick
- For better baking, use shiny muffin pans for
golden and tender muffin crusts. For easy baking and easy cleanup,
use greased paper baking cups preferably when the batter is
cake-like.

- Cast iron muffin pans heat evenly throughout,
making muffins to perfection.
- Silicone muffin pans allows to turn hot baked
muffins out onto a cooling rack with a quick twist. The pan is made
of flexible, food-safe silicone and can withstand temperature upto
428 degree F.
- Steel muffin pans ensures even heat
distribution and easy removal of baked goods.
- Aluminum muffin pans are ideal for baking in
terms of easy removal of baking goods and easy cleaning of the pan.
