Oyster Knife
Oyster is used to
open the hard shell of a oyster in order to separate their meat from
shell. The blade of an oyster knife is short and blunt
with a pointed tip and one sharpened edge. The shape of the handle may
be either round or square depending upon the design.
 
Oyster is harvested is coastal areas all over the world and all most
90% are shucked and sold as meats. So, oyster knife is
very popular among fishermen where oysters are harvested i.e. North &
South America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
Oyster knife is very similar to calm knife, but it has
one protective hand shield that also helps to prevent damages done to
the oyster's meat while opening up the shell.
Materials of Oyster Knife
Generally, the blade of the oyster knife is made of
hi-carbon steel or stainless steel. It comes with ergonomic wood
handles.
