Skewer is a long
metal or wooden pin used to secure or suspend food during cooking. This
also forms an essential kitchen accessory. They can be of various sizes.
 
Skewer Material
- Metal Skewer : These are typically stainless
steel and have a pointed tip on one end. They also have a strong
grip for easy removal of food. They can be used several times.
- Wooden Skewer : These are soaked in water prior
to assembling and cooking to avoid burning. These are most often
made from bamboo. They are usually not reused.
