special cheese cakes or layered deserts. Springform pans are available
in various shapes and sizes.
The most common shapes of springform pan available are :
- Round - They hold oil well and
enables easy cleaning.
- Square - They're great for
creating cheesecakes, cakes, frozen deserts, breads and savory
dishes with the ability to easily remove your goodies without
altering the presentation.
- Rectangular - They are used for
the ease of removing cakes easily from the pans.
- Mini - They are great for making

The most common materials used for making springform pan are :
- The traditional springform pans is made of
tinned steel. The bottom is waffle shaped to give
it strength and fits in a groove at the bottom of the rim.
Relatively inexpensive, the tin coating covers the steel and helps
prevent rust.
- Aluminum pan is very popular and can
be easily washed in dishwasher. The rim is curved inward at the
bottom to keep the base in place.
- Stainless steel springform pan is used widely
for its purity and good thermal conductivity.
- Nonstick pan is also used by many
for greater ease in removing cakes.
