According to the Cookware Manufacturers Association, stainless steel may also contain other elements, such as nickel, molybdenum or titanium. These materials can contribute special hardness, high temperature resistance, and resistance to scratching and corrosion to the finished stainless steel alloy.

The only drawback is it has poor thermal conductivity. In order to combat this problem, a thick aluminum or copper core is used in the bottom to help conduct heat more evenly and make the cookware more responsive to heat.

  • Wash with hot soapy water.
  • A nylon scouring pad is used to remove stuck on food.
  • Stainless steel cleaners can be used to remove stains.
  • Use dishcloth, sponge, nylon net or plastic pad. After washing, rinse thoroughly with hot water and dry cookware to prevent water spotting.
  • Golden brown or blue heating stains may occur from time to time. These usually result from over heating. Be very careful that you don't use too much heat if you want to maintain the beauty of your cookware.
