Stockpot

Stockpot is a large, deep pot especially designed to make stock, soup, stew and boil noodles, pastas and seafood. It is also called soup pot or sauce pot. The pot is the just the right choice for making a batch of soup. It is usually made of stainless steel for its durability and good thermal conductivity. It also consists of a tight fitting lid that locks in moisture and flavor.

Choosing a good Stockpot
  • Size : It should range between 6 qt to 12 qt for versatile uses.
  • Shape : A pan with a round base and straight sides is more appropriate to use.
  • Structure : The pan should have a thick, heavy bottom to prevent burning.
  • Conductivity : The pot should have the ability to transmit heat from the source to the food evenly and efficiently.
