Tea was introduced in China since long. It was brought to Japan in the
9th century by a Buddhist monk from China. It soon became widely popular

In ancient China, tea was meant to be drunk from specially designed
bowls. People in Japan also use unique tea bowls for their famous tea
ceremony.
Modern day tea bowls are available in varied shapes, sizes and
materials. Shapes may vary from cylindrical, flat, oval or round.

- Shallow tea bowls are used in summer as they
allow tea to cool rapidly.

comparatively longer time to cool.
