Tortilla Press

Tortilla press is a device used to flatten balls of masa, a corn meal dough, into thin patties for tortillas. The first tortilla machine was introduced in 1960s to churn out hot steaming tortillas in a fraction of second. It is basically a Mexican appliance.

The tortilla press is very popular among the Hispanic cooks. Usually made of cast iron or reinforced plastics, these tools are very handy and can be used almost anywhere. Tortilla press made of wood is also available in the market.
